Gen X here. This is litteraly me in my 30' . Suddenly thrown into a world that imitates our memory of it but suddenly foreign to everything.

When my ex wife cheated on me i was far away I couldn't be physically there with her she sent me a picture of her with the guy with my dream car which he gave her as a gift I don't know what happened to me In that moment I just started running and couldn't stop till I my feet could no longer carry me the amount of pain I felt I can never comprehend till this day I contacted her a month later and she sent me this song she thought it best represents her feelings about divorce little did she know the song hit hard because I was the one suffering what the same feelings in the song and it stuck in my head I had to make a decision after that and I never talked to her again even though omi loved her so much, I still do love her but the pain she caused me brought me down on my knees, it killed me a thousand times watching that picture, I got into the gym after a while and I never stopped working out for a few months it was the only thing that took the pain away even for a little while it was my only escape from the pain and gradually the pain is getting a little better I don't if I'm it's going away or I'm just coping with it but I'm glad I'm over the days I opened my eyes and tears started to fall, today is her birthday and I'm reminiscing about the days we were together I miss her a lot but I will never tell her I'll take all these feelings with me to the grave I wish her happiness and I would like to get over her one day even though I doubt that would happen for whenever I listen to this song the pain I felt that day comes rushing back as if it just happened
